Methods of use
- Take your pills at the same time daily, with a maximum delay of 3 hours.
- Do not stop your progesterone only pills during any periods you may get.
- Take your injection once every 2-3 months (depending on the type prescribed), with a maximum delay of 3 days.
- These may be used in diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases.
Normal symptoms while using progesterone contraception
- You may get no periods throughout using it (this is normal for even 6-9 months after your last injection).
- You may otherwise get light and/or irregular periods.
- Some feeling of vaginal dryness.
- Mood swings.
Symptoms you must consult your doctor about
- A new change in the period pattern you used to get while on this type of contraception.
- Breast diseases.
- Starting any medications next to contraception (for drug interactions).
This type of contraception is not to be used in the following conditions
- Undiagnosed cause of vaginal bleeding.
- Following vesicular mole pregnancy.
- Beyond the age of 45 years or for >5 consecutive years.
Do not stop your progesterone only pills during any periods you may get.
Should you develop any disturbance in your routine menstrual cycle rhythm, please consult your doctor as soon as possible. Please Do Not Stop Your Contraception Yet.
